Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have been getting very gassy these past few days. However since yesterday I started to see blood in my stool and when I woke up this morning I have a headache. I also usually go number 2 right away in the morning but nothing is coming out today.
Noted the history and understood your concerns. Feeling gassy, headache, constipation, and blood in stool can be due to the following reasons. Intestinal infection can cause excessive gases, headache due to toxemia and severe inflammation can cause blood in stool.
I would advise you the following: • Get the blood and stool tested. • Get on proper antibiotic cover with Metronidazole and probiotics. • X-ray of abdomen and ultrasound along with clinical evaluation by a doctor can get you a proper diagnosis and guide for further additional management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T Chandrakant
