What Causes Acute Diarrhea And Constant Headaches?

Why do I have diarrhea a lot of the time? One time for 3 months, one time for a month and now I have had it about 2 months. Doctors haven t found out the reason. I have headaches some also. I can t drink water, it makes me sick. I can drink coke or Gatorade. Do you have any suggestions? I have had a ct scan on my stomach with iv, didn t find anything.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
I understand your concern
Your symptoms could be due to irritable bowel syndrome,
Bacterial overgrowth in intestine, Malabsorption, Celiac disease.
Frequent diarrhoea cause dehydration, fatigue and headache.

I would suggest to consult the authorised gastroenterologist and undergo
Blood test like: CBC, ESR, LFT, serology test for celiac disease, hydrogen breath test, Stool routine, microscopic and calprotectin.

Following treatment will helpful:
Tablet imodium 2mg twice daily.
Tablet imipramine 25 mg at bedtime
Tablet rifaxim 550 mg three times a day
Sublingual tablet of Vitamin B12 and folic acid
Take soluble fiber like senna
Take small frequent meal rather than large meal
Drink plenty of water (4-5 L/day)
Avoid spicy/oily/fatty food
Do regular exercise like walking, running, 45 minutes in the morning followed by meditation for 20 minutes. Avoid stress.
Best regards
Dr. Sagar
