What Causes Anal Fissure?

I have been finding pus in the space between my buttocks and the skin feels like there s a fissure of sorts. I also lately seem to ooze anal fluid. Getting worse. I am 61 and take a lot of ibuprofen every day for several years. Not long ago I had near constant diarrhea and loose stools, often having accidents in bed and otherwise.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* There are an ample number of causes of the fissure, some of them are
- constipation (hard stool pressing over butt cracks)
- lack of fiber intake in the diet
- less water consumption that required for soft stool formation
- prolong sitting on hard surfaces or driving seat
- anal sex
- spicy diet, non-veg items
- associated with hemorrhoid as side effects of overdose analgesic or else

However, individual cases may have various reasons or assembly of reasons to produce anal fissure. You must discuss, management guidelines with your doc after proper clinical evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
