General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

First of all, it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.

Based on the history you have shared, it can be due to a panic attack but objective causes should be ruled out by having a baseline EKG as well as chest and cardiac examination.

An echocardiogram may also be needed. Serum hemoglobin levels and thyroid levels may also be needed. If workup is normal, a psychiatrist review for using antidepressants like escitalopram may beneficial.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
