General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

A psychologist or counsellor may be the best option. One of these specialists would be able go through different therapeutic techniques, including possibly cognitive behavior therapy. This type of therapy looks at any ideas, perceptions and thoughts that may be affecting his outlook and how they may be affecting his response.

Essentially thoughts affecting behavior or mindset, change the thoughts , change the mindset. It would involve learning relaxation techniques and coping mechanism for stressful situations. The online health site, healthgrades.com, would allow you to find a psychologist in your area and also give you the ratings for each.

I hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James
