What Causes Awful Smell Of Vagina After Intercourse?

I noticed that ever since I have started taken the contraceptive Micronor, my vagina now omits a very fishy smell whenever my husband and I have sex. Is this the case, and if so what other contraceptive can I take which does not have this side effect?

OB & GYN Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Fowl smelling discharge from vagina is usually a sign of infection. I would advise to get a examination done and get a treatment for both you and your husband for the infection. It is important that both if you get treated simultaneously otherwise the infection would nit resolve due to cross infection.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rishma Lakhani, OB & GYN Specialist
