Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I m a female age 44. Saturday, I had lower back pain. I thought I was getting a kidney infection. I started drinking cranberry juice to see if it would help. Sunday, the pain migrated up just below my shoulder blades. The sides of my rib cage felt tender and bruised. As the day went on my upper abdomen started feeling tender and bruised. By Monday the lower back pain was gone, the upper back pain had eased but still remained and it hurt to take steps in my upper center abdomen. When I breathe now my abdomen hurts. No nausea, fever, loss of appetite, etc..... I haven t done anything physical like yard work or worked out at the gym in about two weeks. Should I be concerned? What are the possible reasons for these symptoms? I don t have insurance. I wasn t able to keep my plan so I had to drop it.
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The pain that you have described is likely to be a muscular pain. This can be relieved with muscle relaxants and a hot fomentation. You can also apply a local analgesic gel. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. Regards, Dr. Praveen Tayal .
