What Causes Back, Chest And Ribcage Pain Constantly?

I have back and chest pains and a constant pain in my left side at the rib cage - I am worried that it could develop into a major issue but have not been able to find a cause for it yet. What are some of the things I should ask doctor about it and what could I actually be looking at?
