What Causes Back Pain?

Hi, my wife just recently had a spinal tap done to determine if she has MS or NMO apparently the doctor took the csf fluid out and my wife said he took 3, quarter inch tubes of csf. I read on the Internet that only a tablespoon amount is needed. Her back was hurting very badly right after for weeks. Could something be wrong? Thank you Lou.
