Hi, thanks for posting your concern in the HCM. Back pain occurs due to numerous reasons. For a midback pain, radiating to the front, any spinal pathlogy should be ruled out including spondylosis, PIVD, tuberculosis etc. Alongwith that any pathology involving the liver, pancreas, kidney and lung or mediastinum or git should be ruled out. You should consult your local doctor immediately. Routine examination of blood and urine, imaging of the spine, Ultrasound scan of the abdomen, Xray chest, amylase, lipase, liver function test may be necessary depending upon the clinical findings. For symptomatic relief from pain you can take Paracetamol tablet 500 mg SOS ( at least 6 hr interval) until you visit your local doctor. Good oral hydration should also be maintained. For any other query please write back to us. Regards. Dr. Kaushik
