Dear caring son
Back pain after prolonged bed rest is common condition and since your dad was suffering from brain infection he has to take rest. This condition leads to disuse osteoporosis of bones. Also at this age osteoporosis is very common. Taking protein powder is not a solution for this condition. Your father will require active physiotherapy in form of mobilization from bed and back strengthening exercises. Adding to that start calcium supplements like tablet shelcal 500mg twice a day. Protein powder at this age will lead to indigestion and flatulence. Start physiotherapy and he would be fine.
