What Causes Bad Taste In Mouth While On Z-Pak?

I was prescribed a Z Pack a week ago last Saturday.
I have a very bad taste in my mouth that I never experienced before. Ive been told its antibiotics that make that metallic taste.
8 days after my last pill and I still have a horrible taste in my mouth, can something else be wrong?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain bad taste in mouth seems to be a side effect of antibiotic only and it can take a longer time to resolve even after the intake of antibiotic is stopped..
You might also have slight stomach discomfort due to antibiotics and it can also be a cause of the bad taste in mouth..
Nothing to worry as the symptoms will resolve soon..
You can drink plenty of water and chew sugarfree flavoured chewing gum to mask the bad taste..
You can also gargle with a flavoured mouthwash..
void high aroma foods like garlic and onion as it can add up to bad taste..
Do not worry as the condition is temporary and will resolve soon..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
