Hi, this is a very embarrassing question, but lately when I drink alcohol (maybe about 6 or 7 on a night out and the drink I have is smirnoff ice it s 4% alcohol), even when I do not feel that drunk I come home, go to sleep and wake up and found that I have wet the bed. I am only 21 years old, this never used to happen before and I don t even wake up when it is happening. Do you know why this could be happening
* The bed wetting has various phenomenon after alcohol consumption as
- there is diuresis after the consumption of alcohol
- there is alteration in the REM and non REM sleep cycles after the ethanol consumption and so the control over the bladder musculature and internal sphincters are not voluntary for particular sleep cycle time period and one passes urine in bed without knowledge.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
