What Causes Birth Defects In Babies?

29 years, 158 cm, 70 kilo, 30 weeks pregnant, primigravida, no relevant past medical history, I am afraid and want to know if my foetus can be born with birth defects or chromosomal anomalies as Down syndrome. My oby/Gyn on routine check says good. Should I calm down. I have no credit cards and if you need to pay money I apologize, please do not reply.

Hi, thanks for asking.
I can understand your concerns.
In my opinion you should get and anomaly scan done. If you have done that then there is no need to worry. Most of the major birth defects, congenital anomalies and chromosomal syndromes like down's can be picked up on anomaly scan of the foetus. There are chances that minor problems mat only detected at birth or after that. No point in worrying about that at present.
