What Causes Black Colour On Gums Where There Is No Teeth?

My baby is 9 months old and has 8 teeth and the gums where the teeth are,have the color pink and then yesterday i saw black on the part of the gums where there is no teeth. i brush her teeth daily so i don't know why her gums would be black in a spot with no teeth at the bottom.

Hi..This can be due to caries teeth. Along with twice brushing of teeth I would advice rinsing mouth or cleaning gently post feed to remove any accumulated foodstufs. Sweetened beverages should be limited. Use of fluoride containing toothpaste.
