Hello,

Black color stool may be due to upper gastrointestinal bleeding or iron tablets or bismuth tablet consumption. Other causes like gallbladder and liver problems, dark food consumption et cetera.

Use tablet Nexpro before breakfast for three weeks, syrup Mucaine gel thrice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved, please consult your gastroenterologist, he/she will do upper GI scopy and stool examination and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
