What Causes Black Painful Bruise On Elbow Post Injury?

I have a problem with my right elbow. last winter I may have done some nerve or mussel damage pounding on some ice. It felt like a pop on my elbow. It was sore for months but went away. Its back and I am concerned. Its not severe pain just sore when I use my arm. Would it take surgery? Its been 10 months ago.

It needs physical examination to find out the cause.It could be Tennis elbow,hence visit to a orthopaedic surgeon is highly recommended .
