What Causes Black Spots In Stools?

Hi, I have recently noticed very small black spots in my stool. The first time it was large black spots around it. I also have been eating alot of oreo cookies and drinking lots of tea with the tea leaves all scattered in the tea. So I stopped eating and drink that for a day and the next time the stool came out brown normal on the outside but had lots of tiny black spots in them. Only some stool had it though, not all. What could be the cause? Thanks

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your symptoms can be related to many causes. They can be related to parasite infection, bleeding of the gastrointestinal tract etcetera.

Some advice that I can give to you is:
-Go for the stool test.
-Do a complete blood count to confirm the cause.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
