What Causes Black Stools And Powdery Residue In Diaper Of A Child?

My 7 1/2 month old has black in his stool. It's black on the outer part of the stool and leaves an almost powdery black residue in his diaper and on his bottom. Is this blood, an allergy, should I take him on in? I just started giving him textured foods a couple weeks ago. Could that be the problem?

The cause could be because of type of food given and also giving hematinics could be the cause.
If there is no constipation and distension of abdomen then there is no cause for concern.
