What Causes Bleeding After Getting Insulin Injections?
hey doctor i wanted to ask that after injecting insulin to my mother in the upper arm she bleeds some drops of blood this has never happened before though i ve been injecting her since last couple of weeks but in the last two days she bleeded when i injected her what should i do?
Dear sir i can understand your concern usually the insulin is given subcutaneously into fat tissue. in fat tissue there will be small blood vessels which might be injured during injection. but this will happen only once in 50 times of injection To prevent this kind of condition i suggest you some tips. 1.insulin in pen. 2.don't rub the site before or after injection 3.don't take insulin in same site daily, constantly change the site in a planned manner. Hope I was able to help you. If you have any further question feel free to write me back. I will be happy to help. Take care. Best Regards. Dr Vamsi Krishna Consultant Diabetologist Apollo Hospitals
