What Causes Bleeding After Having Cipla?

i used mtp cipla kit on 22 sept 11 . bleeding started and continued till 3 oct 11 . i met my doctor and had ultrasound done. doctor found reports ok. but it again started bleeding on 15 oct. it is brown in colour . can u tell me why is it happening?

Hi,

MTP kit contains Mifepristone and Misoprostol. Mifepristone is a progesterone analogue should be taken orally followed by per vaginal insertion of 4 tablets of Misoprostol with each 200 mcg. Misoprostol is a analogue of Prostaglandin which usually prescribed to prevent the gastric mucosal injury.

If there is any inside the uterus, it may cause secondary bleeding after sometime. Brown colored blood during menstruation indicates there is enough time to the blood to gets oxidized which turns the bright red color into brown. Incomplete abortion may be cause for concern. Discuss with the gynecologist for further management.
