Hi,

Bleeding between periods can occur due to hormonal imbalance, infections, ovarian cysts or endometriosis or other uterine causes. In case of sexually active women, use of hormonal pills can also cause irregular bleeding. Pelvic ultrasound, thyroid profile and complete blood counts should be done to identify the cause.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
