What Causes Bleeding From The Ear After Cleaning The Wax?

I took my 9 month old to the pediatrician today. She wanted to clean out the wax in his ears. After doing so, both ears bled and she had to cortorize the one ear to make it stop bleeding. Should I be concerened about the bleeding and take him to an ear specialist?
