What Causes Bleeding In Between Periods?

I ve been having 2 periods a month for seven months now. I ve had all scans & blood tests & they ve come back normal. I m 35 and worried to why this is happening. My period arrives on time then I see another period when I should be apparently ovulating. Advice would be great
