What Causes Bleeding In Urine With History Of Prostate Problems?

I have excessive bleeding in my urine. Past prostate problems with having my prostate scraped 20 years ago. I'm 88 years old. Hospital sent me home with instruction to see urologist. no appointment for 3 months?! Any idea's what might be going on... could it be a sign that my time has come? could this be bladder related or another organ... any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
