What Causes Bleeding Through Rectum?
About 2 weeks ago I started having blood coming from my rectum. It was bright red and sometimes come in clots. THis happened only when I went to the bathroom. Never through out the day. That has gotten better, however, now I am just passing mucus like clots with slightly darker color. I have spoken to a nurse and she seems to think it is internal hemriods. Does that sound right or could it be something else?

Is it painful bleeding or not, what about stool it is hard???
Most common causes hemorrhoids, fistula, fissures and rectal malignancy (less common)
How old are you?? Just consult your doctor he will examine by proctoscope if needed sigmoidoscope.. And confirm the cause of the bleed.
Till that time
Drink plenty of water.
Eat more fiber
Syrp. Duphalac 30ml at night time( if hard stool present)
Tab. Metrogyl 400mg tid
