What Causes Bloating After Having Meals?

my husband eats very little for a man but has trouble with bloating,never at breakfast but after the main meal at lunch or evening really suffers.he does drink a lot and that is something i cannot convince him to stop.he does not drink spirits bur wine or beer.he gets constipated and has great trouble with bowel movements,he thinks he has a tear.he is extremely bad tempered and gets depressed,help!

Thanks for your query.
Noted the history about your husband and understood the concerns.
Constipation, bloating after main meals, bad temperament, depression all indicate towards IBS that is irritable bowel syndrome.
This can be diagnosed by the following ways:
Clinical evaluation by a Doctor, preferable a Gastroenterologist.
Tests of blood, stool and urine.
CT scan of abdomen.
Upper GI Endoscopy and colonoscopy.
If all the tests are normal then this may be due to IBS.
If a particular problem is found during investigations this can be specifically treated.
I think a good control of stress, anxiety and depression can help him the most may be with or without medications.
