Hi.
Thanks for your query.,
Noted the history of removal of partial
pancreas,
spleen and
gall bladder 18 months back, developed small bowel obstruction and was admitted for 5 days, after returning home after 2 days the abdomen again bloated, taking light diet of jelly, fruit smoothies, soups, juices and tea. Doctor advised to stay off bread, rice an grains for a period of 2 weeks since the obstruction cleared in hospital prior to possible surgery. wants to know whether it is possible that the bowel has re-kink, by lifting weight or by doing too much...
As per the history your have provided, this looks to be due to
intestinal obstruction and although was conservatively managed may need exploratory surgery if this becomes a recurrent phenomenon.
I would advise you hte following:
Get admitted so that a clinical evaluation, examination and investigations can be done to know the exact timely problem.
X-ray of the abdomen in standing position.
Contrast enhanced
CT scan of the abdomen.
This will give an idea about the extent of intestinal obstruction, the need whether to continue conservative management or need a surgery to relieve the intestinal obstruction.
