Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Bloating Post A Colon Removal Surgery?
I had 18 of my colon removed last year and am experiencing the same sort of bloating, passing gas and a constant pain on my right side. Yes, I still have my appendix. I have no fever, some nausea, and not much of an appetite. Oh, and my stomach is making so much noise you would think a rock band was in there.
There can be different conditions responsible for this such as:
1) Intestine motility issue
2) Altered flora mechanics
3) Intestine infection
4) Digestive enzyme disturbances
5) Malabsorption issues
6) Food intake related
7) Lack of mobility and others.
Hope this clears your doubt.
Wishing you a fine recovery.
For any further assistance, please contact me.

Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
