What Causes Blood After Bowel Movement?

Hi, I just went to the bathroom and it was urgent and when I wiped there was bright red blood on the toilet paper. This also happened about a week ago when I had an urgency to get to the bathroom in time. Do you think this is serious. I had a colonoscopy about five years ago and it was o.k. What do y ou think it could be? Thank you.

Dear blood in Toilet paper may be due to hemorrhods, fissure,fistulas or bacillary or amoebic dysentery etc...

Please get stool occult blood estimation, avoid spicy food and alcohol avoid smoking. please consult your surgeon he will examine and treat you accordingly.
