I had yeast infection couple of weeks ago (treated by pill from dr) two nights ago I had sex with my husband for the first time in a long while. Tonight I urinated and when I wiped there was a tiny bit of blood. Not on underwear at all. What is wrong? Do I need to see my dr? YYYY@YYYY

Hello,

You have history of yeast infection. After intercourse with your husband there was little blood when you wiped. Post coital bleeding is commonly due to dryness of the vagina, vaginal tearing or injury due to vigorous sex, cervical polyps, PID, etc. A small amount of bleeding or spotting can result from a yeast infection. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a gynecologist. Use vaginal lubricants during sexual intercourse. You can take vitamin E (Evion-400), once daily for 15-20 days for better lubrication.

Yeast infection is treated with a course of antifungals orally. Take care of your hygiene, do not douche, do not use any scanted lotions or soaps. Do not use public washrooms or toilets. Get examined and get all required tests and investigations done to detect any other pathology causing you spotting. You will be treated accordingly. Stay away from addictions if any, avoid stressful lifestyle.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
