What Causes Blood In Stool?

I have for the last 3 days bright red blodd in my stool. I am 62 120 lbs 5'2" with a history of hemorrhoids during my last colonoscopy 2008 I was constipated last week. I had a sharp pain around my left ovary but had an ultrasound with my gynecologist a few days ago but no problem there.
