Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
About five months ago, I strained too hard whilst passing a stool. A couple of days later, I found that my stools were covered in bright red blood and jelly-like blobs. Doctor gave me some fibre medication (to loosen stools) which appeared to do the job for a few weeks. Found more blood in my stools (harder to see now - seems to be dots, slight streaks and jellylike-blobs but not as red) and the doctor gave me more fibre medication and requested a stool sample from me.
The stool sample came back as "normal" and the doctor was satisfied that it probably is piles and I shouldn't worry too much about it. Gave me some suppositries to pop up the backside which was supposed to fix the piles once and for all.
Been 4 months since I noticed blood and I am found more in the last few days. Seems to be a darker red (difficult to see / notice - but it is there) and some jelly-like blobs which also contain blood.
Can I still assume that this is piles or could have I damaged something inside when I first noticed the blood?
