What Causes Blood In The Stool?

My now 6 month old has always had very loose stools. at 2-3 months they became sometimes green and frothy with occasional blood. the blood is sometimes small specs to longer and veiny. I ve done block feeding to help with the frothy aspect. I ve also been doing an elimination diet, so no dairy or soy for a month now but the blood still comes back. Any idea what this could be?

Pediatrician, Pulmonology 's  Response
Hi...after cow's milk protein allergy is ruled by dietary avoidance and if still she has blood in stools, we should suspect a local cause in the large intestine and if I were your paediatrician I would take a gastroenterology consult for endoscopy or colonoscopy and see if there is a polyp or a lesion.
