What Causes Blood In Urine In A 62 Year Old?

Hi! I had 2 urine tests in the last 4 months and it came back with blood in the urine. I m 62 year old female and have never had any issues like this. My Internist wants me to go to a Urologist? What can be the problem; its a little scary and no explanation was given. Thank you! Linda

Hi, welcome to healthcare magic forum.

It looks like stone or infection or some kind of infestation in urinary tract (kidney ureter bladder) so need not to worry just get the ultrasound done and also urine culture & sensitivity test, the diagnosis will be clear, followed by treatment.

And the urologist will be the best person to take care of this type of situation.

Regards.
