What Causes Blood Spots Throughout The Month In Women ?
Good day Dr Please advise, ive been getting small blood on my underwear for about a week now, i had my periods about three weeks ago. im a little scared, im not really sure what it means, i dont take contraceptives, but about two weeks ago i took the morning after Pill called Norlevo, Please advise.
According to the description the possibilities are:
- Because of high doses of progesterone hormone in the morning after pill, that can lead to the withdrawal bleeding after taking the pill. - Emergency contraceptive pill can also lead to menstrual irregularities by altering the reproductive hormonal balance. - Sometimes during ovulation some amount of spotting can be seen in the middle of the month due to reproductive hormonal fluctuations.
This type of spotting will subside soon or will convert into the menstrual flow without any need of specific treatment. If it persists for more than 2 weeks and repeats in next menstrual cycle better consult your gynecologist once and get evaluated. By clinical examination and ultrasound the problem can be identified and treatment can be taken accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
