What Causes Bloody Diarrhea During Pregnancy?

I am 17 weeks pregnant and have had diarrhea with a lot of mucus for the last 5 days. Tonight I noticed a lot of blood with it. I've been tired, dizzy, confused and light headed. I haven't been able to hold down any solid food and sometimes I can't hold down fluids.

Hello
Welcome to HCM
Thanks for posting your query in HCM. I understand your concerns. It seems that you have an episode of gastroenteritis. As you had so many episodes of diarrhea, you might have lost so much of fluids from your body and would be dehydrated.

So,i would advice you to take enough amount of fluids in the form of fruit juices and also oral rehydration solution should be taken. As you have bloody diarrhoea,it seems to be infected. So,you need to take a course of antibiotics along with this after consulting your gynecologist.

Hope you are happy with the answer.

Thank you
