What Causes Blue And Purple Bruise All Over The Upper Thigh?
I had a stent placed a few days ago and suffered from a hematoma when the catheter was being removed and pressure was applied for 50 minutes. I now obviously have a huge blue and purple bruise all over my upper thigh. My question is I now have two more bruises on the same leg, one above my knee and one below my knee near my calve, but they both have knots. Should I be concerned about these? They are sore but not painful.

Hi,
You consult dermatologist and hematologist as early as possible...as you seem to have purpura. You developed ecchymoses..i.e. Blood spread in dermis.
After thorough examination and investigations, he might come to some diagnosis and accordingly treatment may be given.
