What Causes Blue Marks On Gums?

Hi my baby is a year old and recently had Hand Foot and Mouth Disease. She has been well for the last week but today when I was changing her diaper I noticed a hexagonal shaped black mark in her mouth on the top gums in the back. What could this be? It is not blue or purple like children get when teething...this is flat against the gums and very dark in colour, almost completely black. She seems happy otherwise. Thank you kindly, Agnes

Pediatrician 's  Response
This is most likely a healing lesion from the hand foot and mouth disease. The mouth lesions can look like this before they go away.
