What Causes Blurred Vision And Insomnia While On Clonidine?

I am suppose to have cataracts out, they are not real bad. I take Clonidine for hypertension, and since I have very blurry eyes, hallucinations, insomnia, weight gain and several other weird things. Should I risk eye surgery while on this Clonidine? Joanna

Thanks for writing to Health Care magic, I am Dr , Muhammad Ahmad , I have read your question closely, I understand your concern and will be helping you with your health related problem.

It is always recommended to discuss about discontinuation of medication with your prescribing doctor and consulting surgeon in my opinion you can use clonidine while going for surgery there does not seem to be any problem in this, even if doctor doesn't want it, they will ask you to skip it for a day or two no real worries.
