What Causes Breath Shortness, Dizzy, Waking Suddenly During Night When Having A-fib?

I am a 34 yr old male with a-fib. Episodes occur 1 to 2 times a year after intense excercise. I have been prescribed a pI'll in the pocket by my cardiologist. Lately I have been getting dizzy a lot and waking suddenly during the night. I have a feeling that an episode is about to occur and feel short o breath. Should I go back to visit my cardiologist? I am aware of this issue constantly and sometimes I just think that I am over thinking the situation which leads to a panic attack state.

It could be panic attack but it also could be a short episode of AF. If you have high heart rate during the episode you could have dizziness and breathlessness.
So my advice to you will be to see your doctor. You may need 24h ECG holter monitoring to find out the cause.
Hope I have answered your query.
If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Wish you a good health.
