What Causes Brown Liquid Discharge From Anus At 80 Years?

I am 80 years of age and for the last three months I have had brown liquid discharge from my anus during the night and in the mornings I notice a brown stain in my pyjamers. The discharge happens prior to my bowel movement which seems fine. I am not on medication but i had radiotherapy for prostate approx. 2 years ago and all is good the PSA is 0.70.

Hi,
I understand your concern.
Brown liquid discharge from anus at age of eighty is mostly due to loose anal spincter leaking out due to old complaints like IBS, inflammation or infection of colon, hemorrhoids, vericosities of rectal veins, polyps. Your PSA is not high, so though less poosibility of secondaries it needs exclusion.
You need to consult an ano rectal surgeon for complete examination(& investigations For getting proper advise.
Thanks.
