good day everyone! I have seen this about a week ago and i consulted it already to my doctor. I have this brown or iced tea color of saliva every morning. I got my X-ray result and it is all normal, It really bothers me alot, He then told me that I may have a have a dry mouth. I just want some information. Thank you a lot.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history of brown or iced tea colored saliva in the morning for about a week. X-ray is normal, told as dry mouth. The cause of the colored saliva in the morning can be due to infection in the oral cavity, in the salivary glands or their ducts or actual bleeding from the gums or so. I would advise you the following: Consult an ENT or a Oral Surgeon for clinical evaluation, examination. Tests of the colored sample for infection, blood, cancer cells. MRI of the whole area including salivary glands and oro-pharyngeal cavity. X-ray of the chest. This will give the proper diagnosis and a plan for further management.
