What Causes Brown Stringy Stools?

I have just been to the toilet and passed a regular stool. However, there was a roughly two inch long brown stringy stool that was separate. Is this a worm or just an undigested piece of spaghetti from two days prior? PS: Stools recently have been normal. No intestinal pain. No desire to itch anal region.
