What Causes Brown Urination And Sediments In Urine?

Hi Dr,i had prostate TRUS biopsy 2 weeks ago. for one week i was getting a few drops of red blood in urine, first few drops before urine. after 10 days the first few drops have turned brown with fine sediments in it. is it ifection. what i need to do. today i am feeling little unwell.Regards,Dewan

Hi,
I doubt if there could be an issue at the moment. TRUS biopsy of prostate can be associated with both sepsis and bleeding after the procedure, and it looks like you had prostate bleed initially.
The change of the colour to brown would mean no active fresh bleed, and we would have suggested no active treatment but as you are feeling unwell, I suggest you give a urine sample for complete examination, and culture and sensitivity. You can be maintained on drugs like oral ciprofloxacin at conventional dose till we know status of culture. Take entry of fluids, and adequate rest.
