What Causes Brown Viscous Vaginal Discharge And Stomach Cramps?

hi I had unprotected sex on january 13th late evening- january 14th early morning and my partner came inside of me. I was going to get plan B on saturday but I got a sinus infection and overslept and missed the time to get it. On January 18th, which was yesterday, I started having brown gooey discharge, and I just took a pregnancy test and it said it was negative. I also still have the brown gooey discharge and have cramps in my stomach. What does this mean??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms you are experiencing is most likely to be pre-menstrual. Given the timing of unprotected intercourse, it is too early for pregnancy symptoms or implantation bleeding.

If you do not start menstruating as expected, please be advised to take a home pregnancy test.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Lekshmi Rita Venugopal, General & Family Physician
