What Causes Brownish Black And Raised Toenails In A Child?

My 5 year old sons toe nails recently are brownish black. He hasn t had any serious injury to them. He showers most everyday. Any ideas? They don t seem to bother him either. It seems to be from left to right and on bottom half of toenail. Also seems to be raised

Hi...brownish black toe nails isolatedly could be a normal variant if it is not bothering the kid. But sometime it could be a spatulate nails of iron deficiency anemia but in this case it should be all the nails and not only toe nails. I suggest you consult your kid's dermatologist for this.
