What Causes Brownish Black Stringy Vomit?

Hi, I am a 36 year old female without any prior health problems, however I have had two episodes of brownish black stringy vomit in the past 8 weeks. I stopped 3 weeks ago and I am scheduled for an upper endoscopy tomorrow. I know that a CBC was done, and only know that my hemoglobin count was normal. Should I be concerned?

Good morning
I am sorry to hear about your ill health
Blood in the vomitus is a symptom of concern which may indicate a tear, ulcers or inflammation in your esophagus, stomach or duodenum.
Since you had two episodes over 8 weeks, stringy blood, stable CBC and hemoglobin i dont suspect any serious disease inside.
But you need an endoscopy for evaluation of the same.
Please make sure that you dont consume any medicines that contain aspirin or analgesic type medications which can be the cause or worsen your bleeding
I hope this can answer your question
I would be happy to answer your future questions
Wish you a speedy recovery
