What Causes Bruised And Sore Mastoid?

i have recently (within the past week) noticed tenderness behind my right ear, around the base of the skull. I looked up the name of the specific area and its called the mastoid. a few days ago i was touching it to see if maybe bruised or bumped, then of course compared to my left side. it feels as if hard like bone but bigger than left side and obviously sore and painful to touch.

Hi,

You have not given any history of fever or truama particularly to ear.

Get blood tests including TLC, DLC, E.S.R.

Get xray of mastoid region done and send me the report.

If there is severe pain after taking painkillers like ibuprofen then go to ER instead of ignoring it.

Do not pour any medicine in ear without consulting any doctor.

I hope it helps.

Thanks.

Dr.Singh.
