What Causes Bruising On Toe After Injury By A Metal Pole?

My foot was cut by metal pole on the upper top part of my foot I received my tetanus shot yesterday and was told that my foot was not infected so no antibiotics are needed, But today I now have bruising on the edge of my two middle toes where the toes and foot connect and the knuckles are like a green and blueish color. Should I be worried and get reevaluated or is it that it is still tender? I cut my foot two days ago.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to the injury. The bruising is normal after the injury. I suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen to relieve the swelling. I also suggest cleaning the area with hydrogen peroxide to prevent an infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
